Starting Pay: Starting at $18.00 per hour, compensation commensurate with experience.
Schedule: 40 hours per week; 8:00AM - 4:15PM on Monday through Friday. Hours subject to change per management.
This position requires working on-site at our Webster, Texas facility. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available. Applicants must be able to report to this location for their scheduled shifts.
Starting pay is based on relevant experience, demonstrated skills, portfolio quality, and relevant qualifications.
About the Opportunity
The Bio Dude is seeking a Social Media & Marketing Specialist to create engaging content, support digital marketing campaigns, and connect with our community of reptile and amphibian enthusiasts.
This is a hands-on role focused on photography, videography, graphic design, social media, and customer engagement. You will report to the Social Media and Marketing Lead and help bring our products, animal care information, and brand to life across our digital platforms.
What You'll Do
- Create graphics, photographs, and videos featuring our products, reptiles, amphibians, and daily operations.
- Film and edit short- and long-form video content, including care guides, species highlights, and behind-the-scenes footage.
- Manage and update the content calendar; plan, schedule, and publish social media posts and YouTube videos.
- Write product descriptions and promotional copy for sales, events, and new product launches.
- Create web banners, email marketing templates, and promotional graphics that follow our brand standards.
- Optimize YouTube videos, website content, and product listings for search visibility and audience engagement.
- Monitor social media and YouTube comments and messages; provide professional, helpful responses to customer questions and feedback.
- Develop and execute social media campaigns to increase brand visibility and community engagement.
- Track social media performance, YouTube engagement, and website traffic; prepare reports and recommend improvements.
- Conduct A/B testing on copy, visuals, and posting times to improve performance.
- Manage the company sponsorship program according to established procedures.
- Stay current with platform changes and industry trends; create accurate, responsible animal care content and follow applicable content standards.
- Assist with inventory tracking, loss reporting, and related business documentation as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in digital content creation, social media management, and search engine optimization (SEO).
- Photography and videography skills, including editing short- and long-form content.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Shopify, SKULabs, and label-making software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a professional approach to customer interactions.
- Attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- The ability to work independently, collaborate with others, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Comfort working with reptiles and amphibians in a professional setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.

Work Environment
This position works on-site in office, warehouse, and retail settings, including around reptiles and amphibians. Duties include standing and walking for extended periods; crouching, kneeling, bending, and reaching for filming, photography, and inventory tasks; and lifting or carrying camera equipment, marketing materials, or products weighing up to 40 pounds.
